Ackereggen sind zur Bearbeitung der oberen Bodenschicht geeignet. Sie dienen zur Unkrautbekämpfung oder zur Einarbeitung des Saatgutes. Auch zerkleinern sie Erdschollen nach dem Pflügen und ebnen dabei den Boden ein. Die Eindringtiefe variiert je nach Eggenfeld.
Durch die langen Zinken ist ein Einsatz des Gerätes bei geringen Mengen an Ernterückständen möglich.
Durch einen geringen Bedarf an Zugkraft ist eine hohe Flächenleistung auch mit kleineren Traktoren möglich.
Durch die Kombination von fünf, sechs, sieben oder neun baugleichen Eggenfeldern lassen sich Arbeitsbreiten von 5 bis 9m realisieren.
